North Tipperary Hospice Movement has broadened its services in the past four years. While continuing to contribute for an excellent service at end stage of life they are providing services to clients who are on a cancer journey. Thankfully today many people who are diagnosed with cancer are survivors.
North Tipperary Hospice Movement fund and manage two cancer support centres, Suaimhneas in Nenagh and Suir Haven in Thurles. Both centres are community based where everyone is welcome whether one is living with cancer or affected by it including family, carers, children and friends.
All of the cancer support services are provided free of charge. Both facilities are ‘drop-in centres’, which means that anybody who wishes to avail of the service can call in without referral from a GP. In a non-clinical setting, the centres offer emotional support, practical help and information in a safe, positive and confidential environment.
