Hospice Sunflower Heroes 2014

Volunteers for North Tipperary Hospice Movement recognised as Hospice Sunflower Heroes

Dorothy Bradish (Templemore Branch), who marks 24 years as a volunteer with the North Tipperary Hospice Movement and Threasa Larkin (Roscrea Branch) received their recent Sunflower Heroes Award, from RTE’s Mary Kennedy. The ladies received these awards because of their years of dedication and hard work for the hospice movement in North Tipp. Well done to you both.

Nearly New Clothes Sale

In aid of  Suir Haven. The wonderful Christina Lyons Fitzgerald is holding a new and nearly new clothes sale for Suir Haven on Thursday July 3rd from 3:30 to 7:30. If you have any clothes, shoes, handbags and jewellery that are of good quality and that you would like to donate to this event, please drop them into Suir Haven. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

PATSYS TEA PARTY!

Lu Lu Bergin of Ballycommon’s annual Tea Party in aid of the hospice, is happening this Sunday 22nd of June. Each year Lu Lu hosts a tea party in her beautiful garden in memory of Patsy Barret. It is on between 2-5 at her home in Curraquill, Ballycommon. ALL ARE WELCOME.

Since 1991, North Tipperary Hospice Movement and Milford Hospice have been working in partnership, in the provision and development of Hospice Services throughout North Tipperary.

The movement was established by a group of interested individuals from the North Tipperary area with the objective, through its fundraising activities of promoting and facilitating the further expansion of Hospice services in North Tipperary.

Hospice works in partnership with Milford Hospice in providing nurses, in home care, respite care, beds and mattresses for terminally ill patients in North Tipperary. All these services are free of charge.

It is at present committed to contributing £52,000 per annum to Milford Hospice and fees for beds cost £28,000 per annum.

Its ongoing fund raising is essential to enable the movement to carry out these services.

For further information contact: Your local Public Health Nurse, G.P. or Health Board.
